Major Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and faced interruptions to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, Europe and the major economies - in delivering air defence systems and implementing sanctions," he wrote in a public message.

He said that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty projectiles targeted energy facilities, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city came under significant strikes during nighttime hours. A minor lost their life and several individuals were hurt.

The assaults come after periods of bombing campaigns in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to detect.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were anticipating more assaults.
